We bought this to deaden the impact from a treadmill in our upstairs apartment.It certainly helps dampen noise, but it smelled bad for a couple weeks (I believe this product is made from recycled tires) and expect some bits of rubber to crumble from the edges of the mat.Note, this is not a piece of foam rubber.This is thick solid rubber, so it is quite heavy.Product Description
