These balls are awesome for little ones trying to learn how to catch.Our girls got these when they were 18 months and 2.5 and were able to catch them right away.There are knobs on the balls which make them easier to grab and hold onto.It helped us be able to focus on teaching them other parts of learning to catch like keeping your eye on the ball and such ... since they could put all their focus on that and not also trying to catch a slippery ball, they were so excited when they caught the ball nearly every time.I would suggest the 8" balls instead of the 6" ones.The colors could be a little brighter, but you can definitely tell the 6 colored balls apart.They come unfilled and you have 10 days to return them, so definitely take them out right away and pump them up to make sure that all are good (ie no holes) so that you can return them if needed.We didn't have that problem - all were great and still are.We bought them about 6 months ago and still use them all the time as do friends when they come to play.We constantly get asked where we found them.Product Description
