Born This Way Lady Gaga MP3 Download Deal Amazon Shuts Down
It is known for its bargains and offering cut-price goods to its millions of customers around the world.
But Amazon bosses had no idea what they were letting themselves in for when they offered fans Lady Gaga's new album for download at just 99cents.
The singer's second offering, Born This Way, was released across the world yesterday but fans in the US were given the cut-price deal by Amazon for one day only.
The offer also helped Amazon promote its new Cloud Drive service, which allows users to store music files on remote servers and stream them over the Internet to their computer or smartphone.
However, just a few hours later, by early afternoon, the retail website's servers had stalled and thousands of fans were left disappointed after they were unable to download the album in full or listen to its 14 tracks.
Angry customers soon took to their Twitter or Facebook pages to vent their fury and some even wrote on Amazon's review section.
