Tonight's full moon will be around 10 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter in comparison to other full moons during the year.
"Supermoon" was first used by Astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979. According to him, it's a situation when the moon is slightly closer to the Earth than average.
Tomorrow, the moon will be 356,577 kms away from Earth, the closest while in it's full moon phase in 18 years.
The moon will shine brighter and also appear bigger as compared to other full moons during the year.
Saturday's supermoon will be just 356,577 kilometers away Earth. The last time a full moon approached so close to the Earth was in 1993, NASA said.
The supermoon will be 30 percent brighter and 10 percent bigger than regular full moons, although the visual effect may only be subtle.
No need to get worked up over a supermoon, we survived 2008 [an almost supermoon year] and 1993 just fine.
